Felicia alternative front struts?

Featured Replies

I'm looking to lower my Felicia Estate Diesel.

I've read up about the MK1 Golf rear struts and going v low is not a problem... that's the idea! I'm not talking street hugging but lower than stock for both handling and aerodynamics to help with mpg.

I've also read up about Ford Escort MK5 front springs fitting but what about the struts?

Skoda Octavia front struts look (just eyeballing here) like they have the same fitment as the Felicia... as they're designed for a heavier car, I expect that the damping rates will also be higher. Has anyone tried this?

Any other ideas as to what to fit?

yes the escort front struts fit and also focus mk1s it is better to use the mk3 golf struts on the rear because they are the same lenth and the skoda rear ones i have golf mk3 jom coilovers on the back of my stage rally car and they cost me £93 from ebay new

Do you use the entire front ford strut with strut top or change any parts?

Also, obviously I'll be resetting camber/tracking but does fitting ford struts alter the camber just with bolting them on?

Thanks for the info so far.

you have to use the ford top spring seat with the skoda mount on top witth skoda bearings i check the camber on mine tonight

yes mk1 focus ones do fit, though on mine the thread at the top wernt long enough to fit the felicia bearings.

however if you plan to go low on the rear i would advise using the mk1 golf coilovers as they are lower so you could have it low but keep the comfortable ride, i have mk3 golf coilovers on the rear of mine and have it pretty low and the ride is extremely harsh, in fact i think im going to swap them with the mk1 golf coilovers...

fiesta mk3&4 struts fit to and have about 4inches of thread spare with the felly top mount

and no i doesnt change the camber
