Octavia Estate of Mind

Featured Replies

Hi guys

Just got a nearly new Octavia estate, my first Skoda. Previous car was an old Vauxhall that had trouble starting, stopping or changing gear so I'm quite excited to have a nice new car that works! Have been after a Skoda for quite a while, and although it's not a VRS, it's quick enough for my purposes and I'm a rather happy.

Have a quick question while I'm here. Can anyone recommend somewhere to get a decent heavy duty but not outrageously expensive car cover (it needs protection from cats and turkeys). Have ordered a cheap one off eBay but not sure it will be claw proof!

Cheers.

Hello seaweasel and welcome along

Can't help with the car cover I'm afraid as I consider them to cause more damage than they protect from, sorry.

Hi - I live out in the sticks and occasionally use a large heavy duty tarpaulin that covers the whole car. They cost about £30 and with roof rails on the Estate do not seem to damage the paintwork - main thing is to stop the wind flapping the cover. Some long bungees help hold it down passing under the car from one side to the other. Helps keep frost and snow off and easy to clear when we get a really heavy snowfall.

Hi and welcome aboard.

Thanks AMI-Burnside, will look into that.
