Airbag Fuse

Featured Replies

Anyone know if there is a fuse, and it's location for the airbag on an Octavia 1.8T Estate model year 2001?

My Airbag light stays on and I would rather check a fuse first than fork out for the airbag module.

It seems to have only started since I had a blown sidelight fuse

Thanks

The fuse is proberbly fine, mine did it after I had an alarm fitted. Should just need a fault code erased from computer, either a dealer job (5 mins max) or someone local to you with vag-com.

No airbag system fuse listed in the Handbook, nor to be honest would I expect the operation of a major safety item like an airbag to be hostage to a fuse. If you get someone with a VAG-COM to scan the airbag module for you, be aware of the warning on Ross-Tech's site here about certain airbag controllers from around 2000/2001 being incompatible with VAG-COM.

Thanks for the replies

I have Vag-Com and have used it happily for quite a while, my Octavia may well be one in the Vag Com airbag warning (I need to check as the Airbag Module Number is the same but there is no letter after the part number. Will this mean it is classed as "A" the iffy letter or is this a safe pre "A" issue?)

I have used Vag Com since 3.12 and am using the latest update ? 5.05 beta

? has the new software update tripped the Airbag light

If I end up getting a fresh Airbag Module would one out of a same speck Golf be usable?

Thanks

Thanks[/quote']Have you previously scanned the airbag module successfully with 3.12? I wouldn't have thought that Version 500.1 would trigger the airbag light if previous versions haven't. I would play safe and let a VAG dealer check for any airbag error codes and clear them. As you doubtless know, a VAG-COM check of a single Module can be done in a couple of minutes. Good luck.

Hi Denis

Yes I have previously scanned with all previous versions from 3.12 onwards with no problem whatsoever.

Thanks for your help

Regards

Steve

Steve, in that case I would scan the airbag module (15) myself and clear any faults.
