I understand i need a Ross Tech cable to plug into the car, make changes to the car and complete diagnostics

What is the best place to purchase it from?

No probs. Be aware of the 'cheap' options on eBay too, which will only work with older versions of VAG-COM (VCDS) typically. And are of course using counterfeit software and you won't get any product support.

There is also the VCDS Lite option, which you might want to check out.

But for a quite a lot people it's a better idea to get the things you want setup by a local member with VCDS for a few beer tokens
