Bolero and Xcarlink

Featured Replies

Hi Had my Octy VRS for a few months and I have to say I'm very happy with it.

I have a Bolero Stereo no Maxi dot.

I want to get an xcarlink system with bluetooth but I don't want to have to pull the head unit out to find out which connectors the stereo has. Does anyone know if the Bolero has 2x6 pin connectors or 8 pin iso? I've emailed xcarlink and not had a response.

Thanks in advance

:)

Does Bolero have CD changer socket at all saying as its built into head unit? Looks a good value mod though!

Sorry to bump this but if the Bolero is an RCD510 would this fit:

If someone could put me out of my misery I'd appreciate it!

Thanks

The Bolero is NOT an RCD510, that said I have fitted that kit to SWMBO's Golf with the OE RCD300

This thread seems to have a picture of the rear of a Bolero although the detail doesn't look great:

How do you find it? I have a Stream MP3 with no aux in so would like to have some USB input without losing the CD changer, this sounds like it would do the job quite well.

SWMBO says it great, no issues with it at all (well the iPod needs rebooting every few months ... but you can't blame the xcarlink for that :giggle: )

I bought it new on eBay for IIRC quite a bit cheaper than the link.

Looking at this:

and the pictures here:

I think the pin outs look the same, has anyone else fitted one of these xcarlink to a Bolero? I don't really want to waste £100 :S , and as I haven't had a reply from xcarlink  I don't think their customer service is up to much, so don't want to have to send anything back to them!

Thanks

Good news I bought the SKU18 and bluetooth from xcarlink. Delivery was very quick. The kit is fitted and working took less than 20 mins to take stereo out and plug it in. Worse thing was the dodgy speaker connectors, but it's in now and working well would really recommend thank for all the comments and help.

Next project is a reversing camera!
