Featured Replies

I thinking to buy something like this: Yeti - winter protective grille cover from superskoda.com. ;)

What do you think?

Anybody...do you have this grille? It's looking so good...

Not knowing your weather conditions in Romania, but I'll think the protective grille (upper or/and lower) is not needed. Only if your temperature is long periods below zero and you drive short trips on built-up areas, when the engine not hit the normal heat.

I'm going to order the lower grille just in case, if we get again the minus 30 celcius temperatures for several days as last winter.

In Romania is not very cold, but i thinking ... maybe the engine will warm up quickly then now, in winter conditions.

I must admit,i like very much this piece from superskoda. For you, i think, the both pieces are required for those negative temperatures.

The thermostat fitted to the engine doesn't open until a certain water temperature is reached, so no water is circulated through the radiator until then. Therefore a cover in front of the rad isn't going to make it warm up any quicker, plus if you have a turbo intercooler fitted it will stop cold air reaching that, which is not a good idea.

I think you are right... but at least it's look very good...the both grille.

No, they are not. If you use both the engine could overheated.

IMHO, the protective grilles are not needed in the Central European weather conditions, only in the arctic areas.
