Very old driven episode

Featured Replies

Saw Driven the other night and they were comparing a Freelander 1.8 ??? I think, a 2.0 RX4 Renault Scenic and an Octavia 4x4 Estate. All around the same price and all very different AWD cars.

So they did this test where they each had a caravan to pull up hill in a field, and I think the RX4 Scenic was 1st then the freelander then the Octavia !?!?!?

I can only think that because the Octavia was the only car with traction control he just left it on, rather than letting it wheel spin past the other 2 !!!!

Then they concluded the RX4 was the better buy LMAO. Renault is not the best at producing sturdy cars, but a petrol, AWD Renault a hazardous concoction indeed I say. A big surprise with that outcome.

Very much so since Skoda have won Caravan tow car of the year for the 4x4 and Superb, although the Superb only won because the 4x4 was not entered that year ;)

I seem to recall that episode aswell. I was surprised they didn't have a hummer in the line up, that after all would of brought some sense of fair play to it.

didnt see the programe but it doesnt suprise me with the out come.

who actually pulls caravans up hills in fields anyway !? seems like a rediculous test if you ask me.

i once saw a free lander struggling to get up a hill in a field and a guy in an integrale drove past him, parked on the top then went down to help push !

as for the renault... strange looking beast the RX4 was... dont think they built it for very long cause sales were rubbish.
