Bluetooth

Featured Replies

As I'm new here please let me apologize in advance if this question has been addressed before, I have a 2011 built Octavia L&K with built in sat-nav & steering wheel phone controls, my problem is I can't get my iPhone 3 & my Samsung Galaxy mobiles to connect with the cars Bluetooth system, my local agent says this is a common problem as the system will only recognize Nokia or Seimans handsets, is this true?

In this day of road safety issues it's a poor system if it's the case, if this is the case does anyone know how or where in the Dartford Kent area I can get this problem rectified?

Best Regards

Mike

Can't speak for the Samsung, but the iPhone should connect no probs.

Go back to the dealer and get him to connect the phones for you.

It's done via the maxi-dot display.

And welcome Buccaneer.

Hi

Firstly, best place to post this is in the Ice Security & insurance section, as you ought to get more response there.

I can't remember what bluetooth version is fitted to the Octavia but I believe it is GSM 3 which is a better system than GSM 2 but it isn't compatible with many phones. I think you might have to change the Bluetooth module, but I'm sure that's not what you want to hear.

Your dealer should know which phones are compatible.

It is a common problem, and a small deciding factor for me when choosing as the Yeti's GSM 2 is compatible with most phones on the market. The Superb has the same problem I believe.
