Anyone slept in their Fabia?

Featured Replies

I had to a while back when I working a night shift at work. Lunch time (at 3am) and went for a quick snooze.

Again after a night out where I went to sleep in the car (safely I may add).

I found the seats quite comfortable! They go back a long way and adjust quite well. Side bolsters work well too.

Bit nippy mind unless you use the engine. Think I need a car blanket :D

A bit like a camper 'fab' :p

Slept in the mongrel a few times, mainly either at a weekend show when the appeal of a tent was slim to nil :D or I was at some Dartmoor inpromptu party, which usually involved a lot of alcohol so no driving :D

When I worked at Pilling Skoda (long since gone) I borrowed our guv's Superb Elegance to go to a car show. I was meant to be camping but never got around to putting up the tent after rather a lot of beer so ended up in kipping in the car. Was rather comfy, didn't smell to clever when I had to give it back though, whoops.

I remember one show I stuck the drivers seat right forward, put a box to level up to "seat height" (had no seats of course) and stuck a narrow airbed in there. Was able to almost fully stretch out

Ah a Superb especially an Estate sounds like a nice car to have a sleep in. Proper leather seats with lumbar support with lots of leg room.

Your car, the only hotel you'll ever need. :p

the lounge area of the roomster could be spacious and comfotable

i think it's illegal to sleep inside a car..

Illegal to sleep inside a car?

I thought the government widely promoted to pull over and have a 'break' if you are tired?

If you where found over the limit sleeping in your car you are subject to normal drink drive rules so make sure you're not in a layby or anything.

I actually know someone that slept in there smart car after a wedding in the hotel car park and was arrested two hours later by the policeman, he was quite over the limit too so got 24months ban.

I seem to remember something about if you are in a car with the keys, you are technically in charge of it so can get done for being over the limit. Presume though that this only applies to public roads.

Wonder what the situation would be if you had a camper van type thing?

They deserve a 2 year ban solely for having a Smart car.

Estate cars and sleep = win :)

Drop back seats, bring a pillow and sleeping bag, job done :)

I also know a young lad that happened to, slept in his car, police pulled up to the car the next morning and was charged with drink driving. Lesson learnt the hard way.

Slept for a few hours in the fabia a couple of times in a service station also my friend she has spent a couple of nights asleep in her's.....she enjoyed it.

As long as your keys are not in the car with you, it's OK. :)

This is true. I used to go bonkers with my mother when I used to pick my parents up from the pub. She used to keep her keys in her handbag and sometimes she would open the car and get in to get out of the cold. She is completely hammered so in the eyes of the law she is in control of the vehicle.
