changing steering fluid

Featured Replies

I try to find some DIY for changing the steering fluid, but have'nt got anything relevant.

My car is 11 years old and servo fluid never been changed.

Any help, please?

if its still nice and green mate, leave it.

If not there is a machine that takes out and puts in at same timebut never seen one in life.

You can just undo the pipes onto the rack at each side but its kinda messy. then just fill it up, but dont start the car. fill the header tank and while the car ius on jacks/stands just turn wheel side to side a few times to work the fluid in and top up the tank, then start the car and turn wheel to fully get air out. leave it to settle an hr then check the level.

personally I wouldnt bother if the fluid looks clean and the steering is fine

It looks clean, not green anymore, but more yellow.I have a little play in the steering box,and I has hoping to eliminate it with new oil.

The steering is light, very light and it feels a bit loose.Everything on the front suspension like rods, pivots ...etc are new.
