EGR Valve warning light

Featured Replies

Hi

Just wondering if anyone knew how to remove the dashboard warning light for the EGR system?

I guess it would involve taking the dashboard out to get at the instrument cluster, are there any guides to removing the dash?

Why not just get it mapped out if it's annoying you being lit all the time?

Well it's my friends car. He's told me that he's turned the light off via vagcom but that it just comes back after each use of the car.

Removing the entire dash to remove a bulb seems a bit of a drastic measure but can it be done or is there another easier way?

Taking the bulb out will stop it showing a CEL under other fault conditions. Best answer is to get it mapped out.

If you remove the bulb then it'll be a mot failure I believe.

He needs to get the dtc code mapped out.

If you take it out you won't know if there are any other faults.
