water in passenger side footwells.

Featured Replies

hi, i had an accident last year on the passenger the back door was changes.since then i have water in passenfger footwells.

When it rained heavily a couple of weeks ago, water was standing in front and back footwells.I have taken the pollen filter out and changed it was dry, also i cleared the windscreen guttering the water was dropping out at the bottom.it is doing my head in any ideas folks, your help is much appreciated.

Thanks

Probably the carriers leaking or something no fitted right in the door. I'd give it a water test with the door trims off.

Will be door seals or carrier in the door that was replaced.

I had my n/s/f electric window looked at under warranty because it squeaked going up and down.I don,t think the dealer resealed the carrier because i have a small amount of water coming in under heavy rain only.

Have had the same problem for a couple of months, after initialy thinking it was leaking from the bulkhead i have now narrowed it down to the rear door, either carrier or door seal. Am fairly sure it only happens when the car is jetwashed. I havent washed the car for 3 weeks now and the carpets are almost dry again despite there being spells of heavy rain.

They are the pressed steel plates that hold the window winding mechanism etc, believe they are rivetted to the door inner. There are photographs somewhere on sealing them, just involves running a bead of sikaflex or similar around the bottom half of the door/carrier.
