I have the radio out to this stage

However, i cant seem to get the facia to fit...weird i know but hey....it just wont go in.

This is the facia i have bought

None of the clips seem to line up anywhere to fit into anything. Installed in the orientation as shown in the pic, the top bar of the dash with the screw holes, drops lower than the hole in the facia preventing the radio cage fitting.

Anyone got any clues or further pics to help me as i dont have the patience to carry on trying and i dont think that a hammer will help my cause.

You should of got the facia adapter from the dealer, it costs about £5 and is fitted in seconds with no need to use the poorly fitting aftermarket ones (autoleads etc.) that cost a lot more.

Using the dealer adapter, you simply remove the old symphony insert your new headunit and install the small blanking piece on top of the unit. The finished result looks totally OEM and you keep the original cubby hole / cupholders etc.

Yep, part number is

6Y0 857 231 B41 (Satin Black)    £2.42

Looks like this, but standard black of course

Or a more "normal" colour :p

Thanks very much guys. That thing my parents bought is ridiculous. I've fitted a fair few radios before and never had anything "fit" like this.
