 Do the aerials require 12v power to gain a good signal and if so how many milliamps do they take as I have changed the stereo in the Fabia and the reception is not all that brill and i might have to adapt the aerial feed to provide it with power :)

:) Im sure I read in Television (repair) magazine that somebody had a VW and found out that the aerial req 12v for an inbuilt preamp, and modified the radios aerial input to provide 12v via a 1k res and a cap and it brought the stations in nice and strong. Does anybody have any circuit diagrams or schematics for the standard aerial ? ;)

There arent any seperate feeds to the aerial base that I can tell you. Just the one aerial cable. I fitted an amp to my Felicia and reception is great. Just about everyone on here has fitted an aerial amp when fitting an after market head unit, has been well discussed before.

Lummox has it I'm afraid. I have a non-standard head unit and it is almost tube like in appearance and is an inline aerial amplifier.

That'll be why the missus has better signal than me in her rover 25 and I can't pick up any MW stations!
