Afternoon all,

Last week bought a 2nd hand Skoda Fabia 1.9 SDI, my first car even though I've been riding and maintaining motorbikes for about 11 years.

So far the snag list includes:

Dash illumination for the speedo doesen't work (though all other back lights do) I'm not hopeless with a soldering iron, but having looked at a couple of forum posts on here I think I'll try and get a quote off http://www.clusterrepairsuk.co.uk to see if they can solve it.

Had a problem starting the car the other day, the imobiliser light kept flashing, rather hoping this was some kind of local interference, as moving the car round the corner and it started fine, otherwise it might be expensive I guess.

The filler cap keeps popping open, but I suspect that the metal tab just needs bending to take some force off the mechanism, as the catch is opening and closing fine.

That said I'm really enjoying this car, and it seems very easy to drive. After years of riding and maintaining bikes, I'm well aware how important a good forum can be when things aren't going as well as you'd like, so was happy to find this friendly corner of the internet.
