VAG COM - Where to buy from?

Featured Replies

Hi all.

I think I may get a version of VAGCOM so I can do any fault diagnostics etc that may arise in the future, but i'm not sure where to buy from. I see there are loads of versions on ebay but I take it these are all monkey versions? Are they ok to be used on the cars or are they likely to cause issue's? Can any body point me in the right direction?

Many Thanks

Howard

You can buy the cheapo cables on ebay and then download a free version of VCDS-Lite from the Ross-Tech website (the makers of Vag-Com) but this gives you only limited functionality (fault code reading and some adaptations only IIRC).

If you want the proper version of VCDS it's £225 (including the cable) from Ross-Tech, not sure if there is a UK supplier or if you have to have it shipped from the states though.

If you just want to read fault codes and nothing else, you can buy VAG fault code readers on ebay from £20-30.

Mine came from ilexa.co.uk - Called VCDS by the way
