As in the description, my license plate and surround trim has fallen off and now there is just a big hole there.

Any ideas why this may have happened and if I can get the replacement parts, if so what part is it i need and how much will it cost to sort

There should be some tabs along the bottom edge of the bumper for the lower grille to slot into. Looks like most of them were missing.

Do you know if the previous owner had modified it to a wide mouth bumper? Might explain why all the tabs are missing, which allows these parts to fall out

not aware of the previous owner making any mods.

As you have said it seems that the tabs are missing. Going to take it to the skoda garage and see what they say.

Looks like its been wide mouthed at some point. New bumper will sort it.

Replacement bumper would be the "replacement parts" way. That's going to be a tad expensive requiring labour and paint. Personally, I'd bond it back in or fabricate some extra tabs/tongues to keep it in place. If the other work on your page is yours, you should have no trouble making and attaching a couple of tabs/tongues/clips.

That's had the un-reversible mod called the big mouth. Sorry dude, it's going to have to be a bodge of some sort...

Yeah the campervan work was me so should be able to sort something out. Just need to find the time.

Nevermind. Just did a quick search and saw the mod. Not to my liking so glad it's gone. Just need to try bode it back together now.

Only if your car was red would of swapped bumpers with you want a wide month bumper but can't be arsed cut the number plate out
