Crunching sound coming from back end

Featured Replies

Recently I've noticed that the back suspension seems to make a strange crunching sound when I go over speed humps and when generally drive along the crappy roads of today. Now this only happens when the car is still warming up when the car is up to temp it doesn't seem to do it as much.

Has anyone else had this problem before? Can't decide if I should take it to the dealers or wait till march when it's due it's service then mention it.

Rear ARB bushes need a bit of rubber lube?? I wouldn't ignore it unless you know it's safe...and at the mo, you don't.

Are you sure it's coming from the suspension? I always hear a sound coming from the right back end of the car and it's more like something is loose inside a plastic pocket and hits it, not a squeaky or creaky noise and definitely not from the suspension. I hear it when I go over a pavement/speed hump. I'm 3000 KM away from the 15.000 KM service so I'll mention it then but if my description doesn't match you could be talking about something different.

The right hand side more. Think

I shall let the garage have a look when I've got some free time.

Looks like I'm not the only one then lol

This is the second or third time in recent weeks that this noise has been aired. Why can't one of the members who work in a dealership give some advice?

As I've reported several times, my dealer could hear the noise but couldn't diagnose - it can't be that mysterious!

When I was on the shop floor, when diagnosis was difficult, we just kept substituting components until the noise went away so the last thing swopped (e.g. shock absorbers) was pinpointed.
