VRS Clutch options?

Featured Replies

Hi,

Today I noticed my clutch started to slip when I boosted a bit in 4th.

I knew the clutch would let go eventually, as its on 85k and been mapped to 380lb torque.

Uprated clutches are at bit expensive at the moment as moving out in a few months, but I will have to get one if I have to.

Would a brand new standard clutch last for around 20/30k? Or just eat it again?

Can anyone link me a few they recommend for my power?

And answers about standard clutch.

Thanks in advance.

Liam.

380lbft of torque? Are you sure? If it's really that much then buying a new standard one is pretty pointless, they're only rated to hold 300lbft, so as soon as you started using the power again it would be a case of counting down until it started slipping. For me, I'd be using a Sachs Race organic clutch, and if it really is 380lbft then you'll probably want/need to upgrade to a single mass flywheel, the dual mass on mine started to fail when I had a torque spike up to that level, and even though the torque was then pulled back the damage was done.

Cant imagine your running 380ft but if you are I would get a different map before any clutch.

I've heard standard equipment LUK clutch kits are good

Mapped by shark, says that on my dyno printout.

Sent from my iPhone 5 using Tapatalk.

Shark run in Nm, that's why I was asking. 380Nm is around 280ftlb :) I sent you a PM, let me know if it's of any interest to you.
