Loose door handle

Featured Replies

So long story short, yesterday I locked my keys in my car and the door was wedged by a cheerful AA man to retrieve them with a lasso.

The door lock them jammed and would not open (only on the door that had been wedged).

A bit of googling turned up this thread about jammed Fabia 2 doors: http://www.locostbuilders.co.uk/viewthread.php?tid=106665

Which in-short suggested flicking a small black switch just inside the door-handle (I had no idea it was there). I did so, and hey presto my door works just fine.

The result of flicking the switch is to put a little more slack into the door locking mechanism, unfortunately I also appears to have slightly extended my door-handle and made it ever so slightly 'hang' out of the car door. So now I have a loose and not very pretty (but functional) door handle. Any tips on how to tighten it back up? If I take of the door-card will I find anything inside helpful?

Thanks!
