Window Switches

Featured Replies

Okay, Im a full week into my first Octy adventure and i have found a little niggle.

my drivers window power switch is a bit sticky in that the window goes down,

but to close it means feeling like im goin to pull the switch out of the door card.

i know its just the rocker switch is probly out of line with in the switch so not a big deal to sort out.

but, is it very difficult to remove the cover of the switch cluster in the driver's door to get at the dodgy switch?

Thanks,

Mac

btw, Mk 1 Octy, 2004, in case the doors are different

You have to lever out the rear half of the drivers door pull then the switch panel levers out with a bit of persuasion from a screw driver. It's probably the switch contacts needing to be cleaned, which means you'll have to dismantle the switch assembly, & clean the contacts with Isopropal or contact cleaner. The assembly rear cover is held on by 6 tiny torx screws IIRC. Pretty sure there's a guide on here somewhere so do a search.

You could try spraying switch cleaner first into switch before dismantling
