Disapearing engine click

Featured Replies

Got a strange one here. I have a Skoda Fabie 1.9 SDI. It's nine years old and has done 113,000 mile. Just the other day the engine started making a clicking noise. It got louder when the engine was revved. Carried on when the clutch was down or the gear was in neutral. Didn't affect performance or handling. Temprature didn't ride and no warning lights appeared. It carried on when the car was stationary as long as the engien was running. Then after eight miles or so it got a lot quieter. Has anyone had anything similiar happen to them and if so what was it?

Sticking bucket tappet, or aux belt tensioner bearing. It may just need a new aux drive belt, if they get too slack the spraq clutch in the alternator clicks.

my vrs does something similar. if it is started and stopped before it gets completely up2 tempreature it taps with the rpm of the engine and then stops once its up2 temp. does anybody have any idea because people are saying to me its a oil pump but wudent that just be constant?

Hi, sounds similar to my current thread My link on my engine even though it's a 1.4 TDI.

May help you also.
