Mac Book Pro Document folder..........

Featured Replies

..If I put a word document or a PDF file in the Document folder on my Mac Book Pro is there a way I can read it from my iPhone ?

Can it be done via iCloud?

Thanks Andy

Yes it can be done via iCloud, but you need copies of iWork on your Macbook Pro and on your iPhone.

Your best bet is to either use Dropbox at www.dropbox.com or if you plan to use word documents on a regular basis, invest in iWork from your nearest Apple Reseller. Once you have iWork, you then need to buy iWork for the iPhone and 'import' the appropriate documents into your 'cloud'

Are you using iCloud or are you still on MobileMe???

Another way is to email the documents to yourself on the Macbook Pro, and then 'receive' them on the iPhone. emoticon-0105-wink.gif

I use iCloud

What I'm after is every week I get a e-mail from work and It comes with an attachment which I need to keep so it comes to my iPhone and my mac book pro.

I save the attachment to my Documents folder on my laptop but I can't delete the e-mail as the attachment/e-mail will be deleted from my phone

Is there a program which will allow me to save the attachment on my phone so I can delete the e-mail from my phone.

Does that make sense.

Dropbox will work for you. It exists as a folder on your HDD. Whatever you place in that folder is uploaded to the cloud. You can have the same folder on your imac/macbook/ipad/iphone/windows pc/android phone or tablet... Whatever is added or taken away from that folder automatically updates across all your devices.

It's brilliant, reliable and also a great way to share stuff.

The best part is 2gb (or 2.25gb if you use the link below) is totally free.

Use this referral link and you and I both get an additional 250mb free. http://db.tt/EPJErGy

Andy

Dropbox is brilliant. I use it for my work so I can get access to it anywhere in the world from any computer.

You can also share folders with friends and colleagues very easily.

Just remember when you delete something from the mac/pc or phone it is deleted on all the other devices that are linked to that account.

Download Dropbox and install the small program on the computer, as mentioned above it is free.

You can also create (on your Macbook Pro) some email folders that are held on the cloud, that way you can view saved emails on both iOS devices.
