MTEC discs - anyone used them?

Featured Replies

Just wondering what the quality of the discs are? Looking into some grooved dimpled ones all round with mintex pads. Found a set all round inc pads for £106 but are they any good?

Had them on my vrs for 10000 miles now and they've been fine mate.

i have used them on both Bora and Scooby.. cannot fault them, no fade, and there customer service is outstanding. the mintex pads are good also.

Scoob,

Ok thanks, that's really useful, what seller did you get them off? I looked at 'mintbitz' sellers discs and pads

i got them direct from Mtec. as i say, i cannot fault them.. I had the bora brakes sitting in the box unfitted and nearly sold the car, i rang Mtec and they said they would change my bora discs to suit the car i was going to get. Turns out the car i was going to get brakes were cheaper, they would refund me the difference, and send a courier with my new ones and pick the old ones up at the same time!!!

No where in my history of modding have i ever found a company to do that!

Cannot praise them enough! http://stores.ebay.co.uk/sportbrakediscs

That sounds very reassuring!

I wonder why mintbitz seller is selling them front and rear individual but total 106 :S I feel inclined to go through MTEC instead of mintbitz but what do you think?

That's pretty amazing service for any company, I'll definitely bear them in mind when I need new brakes purely from that post. There's no way I'm paying to put Tarox Strada/G88 on the Fabia again, the type of driving I do simply doesn't warrant it when I can get the same road performance from cheaper pads. Reckon they'd be any good on a track (not that I think I'm going to be able to do any track days this year, but just in case...)?

I got mine direct too, also got a 15% discount on their home Page, not sure of its still up tho
