Want car to sit lower..but still want ride comfort...

Featured Replies

Any advice guys?

The standard VRS sits too high for my liking. I already owned a lowered Z4 and HATE the ride quality...hence I've given it to the wife...

Back to the VRS, is there a cheap way to make the car look better lowered?

Ta

Eibach springs!

I wanted the same mate, went for Koni str.t kit, shocks and springs and Im well chuffed. Exactly what I wanted. Ride is Just as good as before but looks miles better. Bit worse on really uneven roads and pot holes but in the whole I strongly recommend them

Its a 5 door skoda and looks crap.

Any point trying to polish a turd?

Just accept it for what it is - I have.

Lower it 25mm with Eibachs. Fit appropriate dampers at the same time though.

If that's too harsh consider increasing tyre size to 205/50x16.

^^^ Should be OK if your insurance go with it.

We have the JOM coilovers for £195.00 or as mentioned the Eibach Pro springs are popular, depends how low you're wanting to go.

If that's how ya feel about skodas Fred44 then why don't ya sell it stop waistin your time on here!

Personally I find that the ride is better on my Weitec coilovers than the Eibach's and standard dampers were, it might be a little firmer, but you don't get the funny bounce that the old suspension gave. The coilovers make the ride more enjoyable all round I think. Just set them at a decent height

I disagree hugely..

The reason for my post is due to me seeing a slightly lowered red VRS with black wheels at Starcity in Birmingham..

It really made the car look a LOT better.

I think the MK1 is one of the best looking cars out there. IMHO - And i used to own an Audi R8!

A little bit of cosmetic modding and they can look sooooo cooool! B)

Chin up. Think Positive.

Beancounter: Mines on Eibach's, check sig.

Its ugly, cheap, poorly built and not very reliable.

Once your over that, then you can look at the good points and the reasons I bought one to use as an everyday car.

Its economcial, cheap to insure/tax, fast enough to be a bit of fun and holds its value well. Oh and mine has a warranty so the reliability issues dont bother me.

Accept it for what it is - thats just how I see it. Save your money and put it to your next car is my advice.

The post is not to pss anybody off, its just to give a bit of balance here.

I've been told by many a mechanic that the PD130 engine was one of the best diesel engines ever built?

so's my wife but I still love her, lol

I'm on Eibach coilovers (not listed for the Fabia but they are for the Ibiza/Polo) and I've lowered mine 45mm and the ride comfort is no worse than starndard. I was really worried about the ride being too hard, but plenty of research paid off and I'd recommend them to anyone wanting to lower their car but maintain ride comfort.

I got mine from DPM and the service/price was spot on.
