Raised suspension performance?

Featured Replies

Does anyone know how much the "Bad road"/"rough road" raised suspension affects the handling of the car, suspension softness/hardness and so on...?

The suspension is raised from 141mm to 159mm ground clearance.

My local dealer does not have any cars for me to test drive.. :(

Unless it has just became available, the Rough Road pack has not been an option here in the Uk, so i doubt many members will have experience of it...

Al.

It's pretty bad in my oppinion because the suspension is way too soft.Maybe the suspension is raised but keep in mind that the steel shield under the engine is also bigger and heavier,so the car will touch the ground pretty often.I have a friend that went for the rough road package, and somehow he managed to crack that steel shield and the oil bay(not sure how it's called in english) while driving in town.I drove both for a long time and my choice is definitely the normal suspension.

Hmmm... no scandinavians with the Rough Road/Bad Road option in the forums??

I have it on my taxi. I think it works god, litle harder but not much.

In my opinion this is a very good option, apart from the fact that wheel arches are a bit more exposed with 16" winter tires.

The handling is very much adequate and needs no special effort or give-up. I thought that the underside pan was of some kind of composite plastic, but haven't had a look. Originally shouldn't be steel...

Of course we haven't had too bad snow situation this year, like last one, so can't comment to a full but very happy with this option. (Had also in mind Outback & XC70 which are even higher)
