Courtesy light malfunction

Featured Replies

About 6 weeks ago the interior courtesy lights started behaving strangely, staying on whilst driving and not coming on when they should. This persisted for a few days and then they stopped working altogether, which is still the situation. The lights themselves work when I switch them to manual operation. The door switches work OK because the little red lights at the bottom of the door come on when a door is opened. I have tried disconnecting the battery and that made no difference. I have also checked the fault codes and there is nothing related to courtesy lights.

Any clues as to what might be faulty? Could it be a fuse?, if so which one? Any help would be appreciated.

I would start by removing the light unit and cleaning up the switch contacts.

Could you tell me what you mean by 'the light unit'. Happy to try this but not sure what you are referring to. Thanks
