Seat Belt Warning Indication

Featured Replies

Hi Guys,

I would like to check with the rest of the fabia owners in different part of the world if you get any kind of warning if you are not wearing the seat belt(Any kind of visual warning, light blinking or any chime) as seat belt warning has been disabled in this part of the world and also i would like to know if we can get this activated.

I see the seat belt warning light when i turn on the ignition and it turns off (Fabia 2 Facelift version 2011)

I have a Roomster 12Tsi. If I do not wear my seat belt or if I put her off during driving (just to test the warning light) then the car chimes and the seat belt warning light is blinking at the dash board. When speed drops down to ~20 Kph then the chime stops and the seat belt light stays on constantly. If I put my belt on then it stops.

I think it is able to activate it via VCDS.

Do you mean by the VAS software? If yes then is there any other way as i do not want to go the service station, people there do not seem to care much and they charge just like that.

It needs wiring.

My Roomster has it but Fabia not.

I get a warning chime and dash light at over about 20mph, here in the U.K. It will not stop unless you put either the belt clip or your finger in the clasp. It will not stop also, if you slow back down so you need to do something to stop the alarm, etc.

It also stops when you put it in reverse.

Not quite true - mine stops after around 1 minute of driving witout the seatbelt being plugged in (not that I drive without a seatbelt!)

EDIT - just spotted you have a Greenline 'mrgf'. It may be different for your vehicle I guess??

Mine (Roomster) stops after 1 minute too ;)

I may give it a go but in two years of ownership, I must say I havent allowed myself to drive for that time, without a belt! (Time to polish my halo-again)! :giggle:

I would guess it stops in reverse, as someone said, as it is not a legal requirement to wear a seatbelt whilst engaging in any manoeuvre that includes reverse.

Before some brighty suggests going backwards at all times, it is also against the law to reverse more than is neccessary. this could be debatable but it is not USUALLY neccessary to reverse for more than a hudred metres or so. PLUS, it is illegal to reverse towards an oncoming vehicle! (You should stop and wait for them to pass you).

Unless I put on my seat-belt I feel like I'm driving naked!
