MOT query

I have a 2007 Fabia vRS, which fitted with OEM Xenons. The levelling system has not work for a while now, but I always check the beams are levelled correctly and I never have the need to carry any heavy loads in the boot that would cause the beam to rise and blind oncoming drivers.

The headlight washer on my car only comes on every 5th time you engage the windscreen washer.

The levelling system for the Xenons, when it used to work, only levelled the headlight beam when you first switched them on. From reading up on the Xenons fitted to the Furby, that’s the only time the levelling system adjusted the headlight beam.

So, how will the test centre test that the headlight washer system is working? Will they just simply engage the windscreen washer 5 times?

And how will they test that the levelling system is working correctly?

Cheers,

J

In the handbook I read it said it might not be possible to check the levelling is working, if so give the benifit of doubt. As for testing washers, I'm not sure, but they work as they should so I wouldn't worry tbh

Thanks. I'm guessing as long as the headlight alignment is right I'll be ok.

Just also thinking, it'll be easy to see the washer is working and that I've used it recently. The ratio of water to washer fluid I use in the washer tank means the fluid is quite messy and leaves quite a mess over the bonnet;)

The MOT testers instructions are that if levelling and washers are fitted then they must work.

On the Yeti the washers work the first time you use the screen washers after turning the lights on, so that is easy to do. Not sure if the Fabia is the same.

I don't know how they test the levellling, but I'm sure they have a way.

Try reading the threads about the new MOT tests that have just been introduced.

Hey guys. Car went through MOT just fine. They never checked the levelling for the Xenons, nor the washer system. But pretty sure the guy noticed the water over the bonnet from the system after I'd used it shortly before arriving at the test centre.

Shocking, I had both Milltek and FMIC and fitted them and both washers and levelling was retained. Just need to know what your doing.
