The wife's Fabia has done 110k now and the steering wheel has got signs of wear which she'd like to get rid of.

New wheels are very expensive but thinking of getting a Fabia vRS leather wheel. My only question is will the ECU detect and complain it's a different type of airbag, or doesn't it car?

Doesn't care. It's only a two wire connection, nothing fancy

As long as the connection on the slip ring is ok it's all good.

You will need the correct tool to get it off too.

Think it's an M12 Spline.

Also... have fun with the clips to release the airbag... found them to be very fiddly!
