Featured Replies

hi guys and girls!

my first post but I've been on here lurking for a quite a while in the mk1 section as i currently drive a 9n3 polo gti, here she is...

so..I've been looking at the new vrs and its growing on me day by day.... as i need to save monies but still have some performance, the options were the usual, the Audi A1, Seat Cupra or the Polo GTi... but yet the fabia still seems to get most of my attention? - VFM maybe?

but if you guys can help me answer a few questions please before i get one!

- re-mappping options - I've seen revo do one and some of you have jabbasport maps on - what kind of power/torque figures are you guys running?

- any problems with the DSG? youtube 1.4 dsg problems and you get a few!

- has anyone lowered their vrs on coilovers at all? as i can't seem to find anything except springs! (the only thing is that the standard right height looks illegal!)

- can the rear electric windows be retrofitted? as its a option from order only :( and it'll bug me to have a 5 door car with winders at back haha

and finally... how much do you love your vrs'...and which colour goes the fastest?! lol

Thanks

kc

Well ive only had one mishap with dsg but its never happened again.

And i dont see why leccy windows cant be retrofitted might just be a bit dear

Ive not had it remapped yet because im going straight for stage 2

as for coils i think a few have but not many have posted up pics

And as for love i had a fairly standard 9n gti and im really obsessed with the vrs + its faster

Also green is obviously the fastest colour have a look at sy and confides cars

Welcome over KC888

I think the Fab gets more attention than the others, in my opinion, because people don't expect it to do what it does. People know the Audi & VW will be quick, the Ibiza looks quick but the vRS really doesn't have anything that makes it majorly stand out (unless you buy a colour scheme like blue and white like I did  ).

Remapping wise, you'll probably see in excess of 200bhp, most are running between 205-215bhp from a stage 1 map alone.

**TOUCH WOOD!** I haven't had any problems with my DSG box yet.

Blue is the fastest colour, we just let the greens think they have it ;)

Welcome to Briskoda

The Blue ones are the fastest providing you have a black roof and Black/chrome alloys.

needs to run on 98+ super unleaded to gain maximum performance......

Fantastic Gear box

Red cars are usually the quickest emoticon-0136-giggle.gif

As far as the electric rear windows are concerned, it really doesn't bother me. They were only ever used when the windows were tinted. If anyone who travels in the back objects, then public transport is an option .... emoticon-0143-smirk.gif

Have a search (top right above) for suspension / coilovers etc. There's loads to check out as far as re-maps go also.

Try not to mention about fuel for your VRS on here. It's bound to cause an endless debate. Just use the cheapest supermarket stuff and you can't go wrong emoticon-0148-yes.gif

THAT WAS A JOKE BY THE WAY ! emoticon-0140-rofl.gif

thanks for the welcome guys! & also for answering my questions!

i went down again today to skoda to have a sit down and to try get used to it! the only thing putting me off is the ride height lol - but that can be fixed! so test drive booked for next saturday and hopefully to either find a decent 2nd hand one, or to find brand new which has already been built to to as close to spec as i'd like!

I'm either... gonna find a race blue... or a white one... the black is nice... the green is tooooo bright for me! (even though i drive a bright white car haha)

and for fuel I've seen a few posts on that already! haha but in general... what mileage can you get to a full tank with mixed driving? little bit of town, motorway and a little bit of heavy footed sunday driving?!?

TA!!

No mention of red eh ? That's you off the Christmas card list pal ! emoticon-0105-wink.gif

Expect 300 miles from a tank if you drive it like a VRS and not a challenge to see how far it'll go emoticon-0105-wink.gif

PS - Here's what you're missing emoticon-0140-rofl.gif

just to update this post.......

....ive found and bought a candy white vrs

gets delivered in april!

now the hard bit....now time to sell mine :(

Thanks for all the input guys! B)

That's a nice looking polo you should have no problem selling it.

Hi, kc888 and Welcome to Briskoda.

Nice Polo you got, i like it! :)

If you where to buy a vrs, you would never regret it!

I dont have a vrs,i have a monte carlo, but ive driven one and its abselutely GREAT.

Not a bad move considering the new Polo GTI is a lot more expensive to buy.

You'll get 300 - 400 miles depending on driving style etc. At the moment with town and few A-B roads with sunday fun I get 300 miles ish. Didn't buy it for its mpg but it helps to know it can achieve 45mpg :)

Mine has the usual black roof white body but i have to say i had never seen a white roofed white vrs (hope that makes sense guys) and it does look nice. but i like the black roof as it makes it look lower because for a small hot hatch their the bloody size of a focus
