what clutch to get?

Featured Replies

Had my fabia mapped today, very happy with the results, but in 5th and 6th I get a slip in the clutch, also get it sometimes in 3rd too. Its nothing major and goes after the boost kicks comes in.

What clutchs do people recommend to upgrade to?

Cheers!

Sachs organic.

How much power are you planning?

I'm considering the awesome gti kit myself. Best price I've seen for both an uprated clutch and Smf... I'm surprised your clutch is slipping straight after a remap :/ what torque you running?

Now running 172bhp and 317 ft/lbs

I was thinking, is it the higher torque thats causing it, as I had no problems with it prior to the remap?

Not planning on anymore power if I'm honest

Yes.

Not from an iPhone

Looking at the torque figures it's too high. I've heard standard clutch is rated at 300lbs/ft at the most.

Ive had my remap a month and no slipping. Did get a custom map however and wanted limited torque so at 277lbs/ft. Tbh though I've been quite sympathetic and only putting my food down past 2k revs in 3rd and 4th and 2.5k in 5th and 6th. Since I've had my remap I don't see the need to put my foot down too early as the car drives like a petrol and pulls all the way to the red line

I've been trying to do the same, not booting it too early. I'll see how I get on, if it continues to slip I'll either get the map altered, or I'll look into a new clutch. I had noticed that the biting point was high prior to the map, so it might of been on its way out anyway?

Yeah could have already been weak to start with in that case. Reason why I'm looking at the awesome clutch is so I can boot the car no matter what revs I'm sitting at lol. Also an OEM one is not much difference in price and wong last anywhere near as long. Bet the car pulls well with that amount of torque
