Annoying sound !

Featured Replies

Ok folks I have an annoying very quiet crackling sound as if it's coming from rear offside tweeter. But it can't be tweeter as its disconnected. Car is 2002 Octy VRS. Si(Beryl's chief Pilot) also has the same issue. Both have rear parking sensors and I'm thinking maybe it could be speaker for those. Anyone else have this problem ? And if so has anyone cured it ?

It used to do it on mine and then a while later the lock on the offside rear door stopped working. There was something electrical going wrong there and you could hear it. My tweeters were still plugged in though.

I think with mine there was a problem with the door lock wiring loom going into the door and it caused electrical interference which you could hear as a crackling in the tweeters.

Reversing buzzer is behind the B-pillar trim so you could check if thats earthed properly. I'm sure me and Si had his apart at one point for some reason (might have been the crackling... I did take mine apart thinking it was the buzzer but all seemed to be fine). I thought about swapping an Audi buzzer into mine as they make a different noise
