Newbie...kind of.

Hi,I was a member on here a while ago but can't remember my old username so have signed up again..our 2003 fabia has developed an annoying fault-its not a biggie as problems go but it's mildly irritating lol,we have an estate fabia and in the last week or so it's decided that it's not going to let you open the rear hatch unless you open the offside rear door first-I don't think its a problem with the lock/release switch itself as once you've opened the back door the boot button works perfectly..I'm assuming there is some kind of central locking control unit on the car but don't want to start swapping stuff until i've had advice from someone who knows about Skodas-hence my post on here.I've had the boot release switch out and it tests fine with a multimeter, and treat the catch to some duck oil but the fault remains.Any ideas? I've been a member on the nissan almera owners club for a few years and their knowledge has been very helpful over the years,I'm hoping it's the same here...Thank you in advance.

Hi and welcome aboard.

Welcome back. I recommend that you repost your query in the Fabia I forum.

Hello Foda Skabia and welcome along

Thanks for the welcome,I'm starting to think it's the central locking control module that's at fault as it's started locking itself back up after 30 seconds or so regardless of what doors you open,it only used to do it if you just went in the boot.
