Exterior drivers door handle is loose

Featured Replies

Had a quick search but didn't turn up anything relevant for this. My drivers door handle (exterior) has a little bit of play in it. It moves a tiny bit up and down, and it has a little more play front/back (i.e. moving the handle sideways towards the front/back of the car). Normally it wouldn't worry me, but I vaguely recall this being an early symptom of a more catastrophic total failure and being unable to open the door at all. Can't find anything on the search that would suggest that's the case though, anyone know if I should tighten it back up and more importantly, how? Ta!

There is either one or two torx head screws situated in the side of the door that I've had come loose before. Might be worth tightening them. I'm sure there is a how to in general guides mate.

Thanks for the link, I found the screws OK but I need a longer screwdriver. My one with interchangable bits is a little too wide, and fouls the metalwork so I can't quite get to the bottom one. Seems like that's the problem though so I'm sure I can find a workaround :)
