Estate Rear Bumper removal

Featured Replies

Hi all, just wondered what is involved in removing the rear bumper (estate). Thought this had been covered but several searches later and none the wiser. I presume the black plastic trims prise off but dont want to start sticking screw drivers and such into places if its a.) not going to 'pop' off b.0 going to damage the painted part.

I'm fitting reversing sensors so I assume I need to take the bumper off or is there enough access behind for routing and drilling through?

Try the link below. I removed the bumper on my 2002 Octavia 4X4 Estate to fit OEM parking sensors. It isn't difficult but it is helpful to have access to a second pair of hands. My car didn't have a black rubbing strip so I can't advise how to remove that.

If you need more info, use the Google search bar at the very bottom of the screen and type 'Octavia I rear bumper removal'.

Cheers for that I must have typed every permeation of octavia rear bumper removal and still didn't get that thread :S

I thought these bumpers where easy to remove, just thought it was a case of prizing off the bump strips and un-bolting the exposed bolts. uch well.

The front one comes off like that but the rear is a bit more difficult. Hope I never have to take mine off as I have two amps in one side and a sub in the other blocking the bolts. All the boot trim will have to come out.

tempted to cheat and fit them with the bumper still on then but would probably make an arse of it which would be worse than the hassle of removing it so just need to fina quiet, nice day to myself without wife and kids...... :giggle: yeh right, that will happen.
