MONTE CARLO

Featured Replies

Hi Gang...

Just ordered a monte carlo 1.6 tdi 105.. ( without maxi- dot ) just been reading through some of the posts with pictures, and the ones without maxi-dot

don't seem to have fuel gauge or temperature gauge, so how do you know how much fuel you have or how hot your car engine is ???????

Would be greatfull for any help...:thumbup:

Never had skoda before , all my old cars had the gauges...:wub::wub:

Hi,

the fuel level is indicated by a digital bar graphic within the standard information screen in between the speedo and rev counter. Theres no indication of temp other than a blue light on start up to warn the engine is cold, which goes out after a short while and a red light if it gets far to hot.

The owners handbook can be found here;

Cheers mate for fast reply and link...:thumbup::thumbup:

Fuel gauge looks like a pint of Guiness emoticon-0144-nod.gif

if there is any way you can add maxi dot to your order you should. For the small amount you pay for it (or get as standard on some models) its worth its wait in gold.

Probably the best option you can buy if you dont have it.

good luck

I've been looking into getting a maxi-dot retro-fitted but I've not found a definitive answer as to whether it can be done, what is needed and how much it costs. It's for an 11 plate Monte Carlo btw.

Get the maxi dot you'll kick yourself if you don't get it

Was driving my wife's Monte yesterday (no maxi-dot) and considering this thread, and honestly I'm not sure it is an option I would choose if ordering a new car and it was a paid for add on.

Our Superb has maxi-dot and it's fine, but other than access to the options (cornering fog lights, DRL, anti-hijack doors, interior light intensity etc., all of which I've only ever set once), there's no practical information that the standard computer is missing in terms of day to day use as you get the full range of trip information.

The only thing I would miss is the 'staging' dial sweeps when you start the ignition, which still makes me smile a year down the road!

Also I quite like the green backlight for the dials in my wife's car - I presume you get white back lights with the maxi-dot? (so is a retro fit a whole new set of instruments?)

Just my thoughts..very happy with both!
