Hi, can somebody tell me if it is easy to change the alternator belt ??? it snapped this morning - battery light came on. If its easy I will have a go myself... Its a 2004 diesel (vrs).

the only really tricky bit for a diyer is getting the engine under tray shield thing off, the little star washer things will drive you mental when you are working on the freezing cold concrete.. if i recall you will need a 16mm spanner to release the tension from the aux belt tenstioner while you pop the new belt on... it will probably be about £15 for the belt from a motor factor

It cost me £40 for my local to source and replace, wasnt worth the DIY hassle IMO!
