Heating still not playing the game!

Featured Replies

A while back I posted about my heating not working. The engine cooling system works fine, the fan speeds and fan direction stuff works fine, just not the temperature dial.

Took it to the garage, they can't find anything mechanically wrong, and suggested I contact an auto electrician to see if it's the control unit (I'm guessing they mean the unit with the dials on?!) would this seem like the next viable option? If it's likely to be the dials themselves, I can get hold of a second hand one for £15 and see if that solves the problem, or am I as well taking it to a sparky and getting them to diagnose it?

Any help much appreciated, as it's fecking cold here at the mo!!

Cheers, Andy.

Itll be the small temp sensor inside the panel. Its located to the right of the ac button and has a small vent over it. Sadly it cant be replaced so itll need a new control panel. Ive had the same issue recently and a new panel has fixed it nicely.

And me - i replaced everything - first started with a new flaps motor, then the control unit. But it was the same it turned out to be a faulty temp sensor.

I've replaced the heating control unit, still no luck, so I'm guessing the next option is the heater flap motor? Is this the little s0d in the passenger side behind the glovebox with a blue plastic cog? Or something else? Is it an easy enough fix? Any help hugely appreciated!

Cheers, Andy

That's the recirculation flap motor, the heater one is mounted centrally in the car. More information Here.
