Would just like to start out this is not a race thread!

I have had 2 fabia vrs's in the past, 1 was remapped and the other was at 200bhp

Ive now went for a late low mileage octavia vrs, reason i fancied the octavia was to get away from the hot hatch image

Just wondered how the two cars compare? Will the octavia tick all the boxes? Better car or not?

Entirely subjective.

Economy- probably Fabia.

Practicality- probably Octavia.

Parking- Fabia.

Speed- Octavia if both are standard.

Handling- depends what you like.

I personally enjoy the fuel of Lucifer, therefore Fabia.

Octy is great for the space, fabia is for economy.

Standing starts octy, mid range evenish when standard.

Looks Octy every time lol

Question is how many dead bodies fit in the octavia boot??

If you get a hatch, about 4. Estate, 6 easy. I've tried it.

Regarding the Octavia vs. Fabia for speed, power to weight isn't that far off. Octavia weighs about 1375kg, Fabia is around 1315kg (porky for such a small hatch!). Fabia therefore has about 100bhp/tonne, Octavia about 130bhp/tonne.

BHP only wins pub talk tho, its torque in the real world and there isn't alot in it,

Octy wins rolling start but not by alot,

I prefer the shape of the octy to the fabia hence why i have a octy plus am a petrol head, i've had a couple of diesels and didn't get on with them

I had a brand new Fabia, got bored and swapped it in for an Octavia, even though I was doing 30,000 miles a year.

I love the space of the Octy estate. Even if it isn't a vrs. My brother had me, his 2 kids and was able to fit a complete Leon Cupra R interior in the boot :-)

Ha! Another reason I love mine. Had to move some house storage stuff on Sunday and the difference in size between my car and my parents' Civics was idiotic. They've got the 7th-gen shapes, which have tonnes of room. The entire contents of both their cars totalled 2 trolley loads. My car alone managed 3 trolleys...
