VCDS vs VAS

Featured Replies

Hmmmmm :dull:

A genuine VAS would cost thousands not hundreds of pounds.

VAS is also more limited when doing adaptations as it is nowhere near as user friendly as VCDS.

Would you get any updates from the eBay VAS? :giggle:

Thanks guys, I guess the Ross tech cable it is then!

The VAS Bluetooth head is useless on its own without the diagnostic machine it goes with, all the unit does is replace the cable that plugs into the car. And although it's possible to reflash ecus with it (along with VAS 5052a) it's not advisable as if the signal drops out you loose data transfer.

VAS is what the dealers use and quiet limiting. it also costs thousands, and there are people selling hacked software and dodgy bluetooth connectors everywhere. VAS also only works on Windows 2000/XP so you'll need an old computer to run it.

Get the real mccoy VCDS and you'll be amazed at what you can do.

VAS PC is also now outdated and being replaced by a new system that is online with Skoda all the time, ODIS won't be copied or available, and to most without training would be confusing to say the least.
