Used all types even tested full tank fulls of V-power and most of the supermarkets brands whether they called there diesel Tom, Di#k, or Harry and not any real difference MPG or performance on a bog standard car.

There is a thread in general car chat about it.

Performance wise on a vRS it will do very little if anything.

It is supposed to be a cleaner fuel so it will be kinder on your fuel filter. I've tried the super diesel stuff and run it for a a couple of tank fulls then gone to empty and then gone back to normal diesel. I didn't notice any difference in performance. Hard to tell if it smokes less so that test is out.

Like others have said on here already, I've tried all types of diesel and petrol in my various cars over the years and come to the conclusion that I've not had any better consumption or performance figures as a result!

I agree that over a very long mileage life of your engine the cleaner (and very much more expensive) stuff will probably keep your filters and engine in spic and span condition but who keeps their cars that long anyway nowadays and we're not talking serious harm in any case if you do, just marginal difference.

I've noticed that changing the type/ rating of fuel too often on any of my cars has resulted in slight 'spluttering' or hesitancy at times when starting or accelerating but when I keep to one fuel or another constantly the cars have been better for it. This is probably due to the ECU's fitted to most cars needing approximately two full fuel-ups in order to guage the RON levels of fuel being used and then to reset themselves to advance or retard ignition / firing timing of the engine to suit.

So, I would tend to avoid the temptation of a valentines day so-called 'treat' for your beloved cars as this might only confuse its ECU!!! Give it what it already loves.... a stable relationship with whatever fuel!!!
