Fabia 312mm brakes

Featured Replies

Hopefully someone can help me out as loads of people seem to have 312's on their Fabs. I bought mk1 Audi TT ATE front calipers, carriers, 40 groove 312mm discs and oem pads from The TT Shop a few weeks ago. Went to fit them today but the carriers don't fit, the bolt holes measure 145mm centre to centre but would need to be 95mm to fit my VRS. Do I just need different carriers or are the calipers also wrong? They were advertised as an upgrade for Skoda, Seat and VW.

They calipers are definitely different to mine, You may have been mis-sold MKII calipers!

I phoned the TT shop but they thought they would fit straight on, there's 50mm difference in the mounting holes. I had a look on fabia-vrs.com but the part numbers for the conversion are no longer available, just my luck to buy the wrong thing!

Maybe 5x112 fitment?

Kenny, As promised! emoticon-0148-yes.gif

Thanks for your help today Mike  I've been in touch with The TT Shop and they'll do an exchange for the correct ones.

Brakes are boxed and ready to post back to the tt shop tomorrow, hoping I get correct replacements as they've mucked me about this week. They were quick enough taking my money

Correct callipers and carriers arrived from The TT shop today, they had originaly sent mk2 Audi TT calipers and carriers which explains why they didn't fit the Fabiia.

Got enough paint?

Right get them fitted and be prepared to stop, remember those behind you though.

I'm fine for paint thanks Mike, wouldn't mind giving the brakes a workout round Knockhill once they're fitted.

Out of interest do these fit under standard mk1 VRS wheels?x

Yes

Standard 16' wheels are fine with 312's, I run 17' TT comps most of the time.

Fitted my 312 on the weekend and just "wow" what a diffrence to the car.

Did it take you long to bed them in? And how do you rate them?

It's a case of going canny for the first 250miles or so,

Initial bite is awesome, And the pedal feel is reassuring, On the road you just know you're going to stop!

I'm going to fit 40 groove standard size rear dics and oem pads to go along with the 40 groove fronts.
