I went to wings and saw them two as well as the rough petrol I went to view. Their car prep is poor indeed! Ended up going private for a petrol 2007 for 6.5k with 52000m on the clock. I'd have to cover some serious miles before I recoup the 4k quid premium for the diesel version. Keep your eyes open in tbe sale section. Good luck

In petrol costs take a long time to get 4K back but there is an example of a similar mileage same age one in this thread at 3K more than yours 25% less than the 4K. Then we have the £60 a year cheaper road tax, slightly cheaper insurance and the slower rate of depreciation the gaps not that big at all when you work it all out. Initial outlay is the big thing though peoples budget is not always that flexible unfortunately. In your shoes I would have done the same thing.

Jeez are you sure I just done the figures for me and the diesel is no where near worth the outlay. I would have saved the 4k and stuck it in an ISA or something !

Hi, Wings is my local dealership and I have to say I think the price of the PDs in question is shocking! Especially when they have/had a petrol of the same year and spec for about 4 grand less!!!!! I bought my TFSI VRS from Vindis in Cambridgeshire. Look on the official Skoda used car section, there is a big difference between different dealer prices!!

Hi, just to let you know I did find a car, 170 CR TDI estate, DSG, black, full leather, front fogs(?) - Highline Passat!

Would have loved an Octy but the wife wanted another Asshat and with this engine made a wonderful compromise. Genuinely couldn't find a VRS we liked in budget.

Maybe next time or when I trade my Furby - eventually!!

Ah well, the Passat is a nice car, the Highline was the run-out model so has a few nice extras, although the front fogs must have been a cost option as they aren't standard?
