Slight hesitation picking up when cold?

Featured Replies

Recently I've been getting a slight hesitation when putting my foot down (say 70% throttle?) at speeds of 40-70 (from 2-2.5k rpm), thing is, it only happens when:

1) after I fill up (felt worse when i went to tescos to fill up but it may not be related)

2) when the car isnt fully warm (I normally drive 10-15 mins before i even go anywhere near 2.5k rpm)

3) occurs only at lower rpm, feels fine after 3k+

I tried seeing if my clutch is gone by putting it to 6th and booting it, seems fine, no slip.

Tried the tyres, they seem fine, and it doesn't feel like grip lose, its very "systematic".

The speed increase doesn't look like its struggling, nor does the boost reading, only the rpm slightly hesitates and obviously the feel in the car.

Once I provoke the situation a few times it gets better and goes back to normal.. :S

Could it be the EGR? I've done the VAGCOM minimise thing and manually plugged it, but I've heard that these aren't full proof and sometimes it can give a twitch occasionally to leave it half close?

So.. any suggestions what I should try next? Or any light to shed on this matter? Thanks.

sounds very similar to what i had. I changed the fuel filter and it was fine. Good job i did as the old one had collapsed.

:o Sounds pretty bad, though I changed mine not long ago maybe 10k iirc, though it wasn't oem, I'll try that then :) thanks,
