Virgin Email - only basic version works properly!

Featured Replies

I've just switched from BT to Virgin - couple of problems with emails -

1. When I reply to an email the send button isn't on screen - I have to save the email as a draft and then send!

2. The 'SENT', 'MISCELLANEOUS' etc folders only appear in the basic version.

I'm useless on the tech side of things, so any help welcome.

Are you talking webmail or an email program?

I think now you've binned Virgin dont the restrict your email? I'm certain at some point it will stop working altogether, so plan for that happening!

Usually your old ISP will give you 30-90 days access to your old email before pulling the account. Orange gave me 2 weeks, but I never use the ISP email anyway so only had a few things in there from Orange.

Dude, the OP said he went from BT to Virgin. ;)

Hi Brian,

I'm Virgin Media too. I don't normally use the web based email service unless I'm away from home and I need to send documents or whatever. I use a computer based email program. So today I logged in to my account online after seeing your thread and discovered the web based mail has been updated. I allowed it to update my online email account normally and then selected one of my emails to reply to. It worked fine. The 'send' button is at the bottom of the page adjacent to the 'forward' button. You may have to scroll down a bit to see it. both buttons are inside an elongated box slightly to the left of the screen, and as I say, at the bottom of the screen.

The only other thing that may be causing a problem if you still cannot see the button is a browser security programs such as 'Adblock' or 'No-Script'. These are known to cause the VM email screen to display improperly. You can of course alter the security program setting to allow everything to display ok. As a test, you can temporarily disable any security program such as the ones I list to see if it makes a difference. Do not switch off your firewall or antivirus programs, I am not talking about those. Come back if you still have problems.

Bests...

My bad, misread.

I tried a different browser, which inadvertently helped! I accidentally clicked on a small box (bottom left of the screen) and the folders miraculously appeared.

The 'SEND' problem only occurs when replying to emails - still to solve that but not a major problem (I'm not a great emailer, so it's seldom I have to reply to one).

Thanks for the replies chaps - cheers!

don't know which e mail program you're using .But try windows live . ( LiveMail), on microsoft . I had Virgin for a few years and only used their e mail system to try and bypass Agent India for BB problems .

I still have my BT account ,something they said would be chopped .Perhaps since I'm now classed as a BT pensioner ,and gave it as a contact ,they're giving me "staff trreatment" .( Takes cover ,with hard hat on ,waiting for a flying pig :wonder: )
