A Pillar Gauge Pod in and almost working

Featured Replies

I have got the pod mount in, wired the gauges to the light ring and finished the volt meter install, but haven't managed the tricky ones yet. I need to find a way through the bulk head for the Boost pipe and cable to Oil Pressure sender. Any easy to follow instructions out there, am getting very tempted to make my own hole.

I don't know how useful this thread is, but take a look anyway?

I have found a route through but my problem is that i can't remove the plastic above the pollen filter. Its the bit that attaches to the bottom of the window.

I have already cut my fingers to bits trying to work underneath it. I have removed the windscreen wipers and tried to lift the plastic panel out, but there is nothing doing. I got very close yeaterday to getting out the jigsaw and the drill. It was my son who stopped me when he went to work on the front bumper with a screw driver, i will not leave a four year old alone with a tool box again.

If anyone has any info on how to remove the plastic i would be very grateful

Marki. I look forward to seeing some pictures of this when it's done. Its soemthing I've wanted to do for a while.

Where did you get the pod from?

Do you mean this:

I spent ages working it out - you just pull it upwards perpendicular to the windscreen and it comes straight off.

Have a look here: http://www.pimpmyskoda.co.uk/Amp%20Cable.htm for some more pics

I meant the pod itself...... off to look at the link to see if theres something there.

Goochie,

Pics below.

Managed to get the cables and boost tube through the bulkhead now, unfortunately the boost tube isn't long enough so have got to either extend it or start again.

Thanks to all for your help, couldn't have done it with out you....

 Very nice Marki.... how much was the pod? and is it a custom made job?

Speaking as a MOT tester does it interfere with your forward view:confused:
