Have you had your car scanned for fault codes?

yes no faults just have the abs sences replaced thats it.

hi this could be your injectors leaking sending the car into limp mode..i had the same symptoms with my old mondeo new injectors solved the problem

try to find a local garage to do a bleed-off test should not cost more than £40.

ok its going in for a service tomos so i will ask could there be anythink ells ? thank you

blocked cat, turbo fudged, fuel filter clogged, air filter clogged..... could be many different things

Mine was going in limp mode due to sticking vanes on the turbo - but that thru up fault codes

only one that i can say could be is the turbo but i have a boost gauge and the psi is right and work when i put my foot down the fuel filter is being changed tomoz and the othere 2 are fine kn air filter and i have no cat.

Has it been scanned with a genuine copy of vag-com / VCDS? I have NEVER known a car to go into limp mode and not have a fault code....

I personally vouch for a coked up sticky turbo, especially if a high mileage car. :) Not too tough to fix, but most effective method is remove turbo and strip and clean it, then refit, and I would do the intake manifold and EGR as well. Wouldn't be surprised if your intake looked like this....

yep hight miles 105,000 do you now any one that dose it. or any were for easy instruction on how to take apart ? thanks

Mechanically, any competent garage should be able to do the work but for a turbo removal, strip, clean & rebuild, plus cleaning intake manifold, you're looking at around 8 hours labour. Is costly, but will give the turbo a new lease of life (and the car in general for that matter)

I would personally feel up to doing the EGR clean myself. Thats just three bolts and a boost hose (oh, and EGR pipe) but the inlet manifold is a lot trickier due to access, probably best done from underneath - and as for the turbo? Well, thats why I am an accountant not a mechanic. ;)

My Mk3 ibiza cupra didn't throw up a fault code after remap but would go into limp mode. the only way the turbo was identified was with proper logging and seeing what the actual boost was vs requested boost was at the point it would go into limp mode. sometimes if it detects a slow spool this happens.

I had a boost gauge and to look at the gauge it looked as if it was fine until the proper logging was done.

However you may find that you identify the problem tomorrow.

all done with proper vag-com too btw
