Standard Fabia rear axle and VRS rear axle the same?

Featured Replies

Hello,

My fab vrs backend kicked out tonight and it ended up slapping sideways into the kirb.

There is a sharp left bend just down the road from my work, the camber drops down badly towards the outside of the bend and loads of lorrys use this road so I definatly know its oily and greasy. There is also a really low man hole cover in the middle of the road and as I was trying to avoid this then all of a sudden the back went and slammed into the kirb.

The damaged it caused had put my rear driver side wheel sticking out.

i've just had a check and they are both different part numbers

standard is - 6Q0 - 5000 51AS (alternative 6Q0 - 5000 51AQ)

VRS - 6Q0 - 5000 51AR (or 51BC)

Do you know what the difference s are between them?

Some onelocal has one with discs on it so hopefully it will be ok to use..?

As far as I know, the only difference is the bushes. They will still fit, they're jsut a different style.

I have a "standard" rear axle/beam and have done the same RARB and 256mm conversion as can be done on vRS beams. :)

Jason, didnt you find the pd100 axle had less toe in than the vrs?

I never did any toe in research to be honest? If toe-in was favourable then it sounds like I should get a vRS beam! :D

Toe wont be an issue in this case. They will have same settings or very similar so there no reason to even consider toe as a factor while swaping those beams.
