Sump Gasket & Oil Pick up Part Numbers - Oh and Hello

Featured Replies

First off hello everybody.

I've been a long time viewer of the forum and this is the first time I've needed to ask a question, forum is brilliant.

I have a 2002 1.6 AKL Octavia with 75,000 miles and it never gives me a days trouble (until now).

Started it this morning and the right oil light came on and an audible beep.

Drove for 100 yards turned off engine and back on and oil light has disappeared.

From what I have read on here it could be the oil pickup in the sump is blocked.

I'm gonna do the job next weekend.

Can anyone give me the following part numbers please:

Oil pickup

Sump Gasket

or any other part numbers I might need.

Thanks in advance.

P.S.: Sorry about long winded question.

Sump gasket is just sealant iirc

Read lots of posts about this.... Think im going to change mine just to be safe

Yup its sealent my dealer wanted mega money for the stuff and quite happily sent me to the local motor factors saying it will be cheaper and just as good!

Hi there and welcome to Briskoda Job is realitively simple I did this guide found in the Skoda Octy techi guide section: http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/191103-vrs-pick-up-pipesuction-pipe-replacement/ As stated there is no gasket but you need sealant. VW / Audi P/N is D176404A2 but you can get sump sealant from Halfords or part suppliers cheaper. Just ask for Sump sealant The Oil pick up pipe for your car I think is P/N 06B103154 but quote your reg to the dealer or parts place as the pick up pipe for the VRS is S06A115251

will changing this stop any sludge issues?

5t.

will changing this stop any sludge issues? 5t.

Not really as the sludge issues are typically not changing oil regular enough. However if sludge has built up then this pick up pipe is more likely to be blocked or restricted so changing it with new oil would be a good thing.

If it's a 1.6 AKL I'm not sure it suffers from the oil pickup issues same as the 1.8T... all the posts on here refer to that engine - you might be on a bit of a wild goose chase.
